Advertisements promoting the publication with a raw, distorted twist to amplify the message that imperfection is perfection.
This publication serves as a visual historical timeline, researching 50 symbolic, stereotypical, and transformative objects relating to feminism, empowerment, and change. I chose to document the objects by creating a kaleidoscope with mirrors to mimic the societal obsession with women and perfection. Many women have developed a habit of micro-analyzing their personal image and somehow society has skewed what beauty truly means. Over the course of this project, I have learned that throughout history, women have compromised and conformed to societal views to make themselves seem more beautiful, but now more than ever women are breaking all boundaries and cliches and creating their own definition of what being a woman means.
